The South Florida Haiti Project’s US-based team has spent the past 17 years building relationships with dynamic, devoted and talented community leaders in the community of Bondeau. Pere Phanord has been serving the Bondeau community since 2012 overseeing and managing all aspects of this tiny community. His passion, creativity and determination combined with tremendous energy has guided many improvements and growth for the school, church and community. He is married and his daughter was born during his tenure in Bondeau. He is a faithful partner and is always seeking ways to strengthen and expand partnerships.

Wilcaire is from Bondeau and works passionately towards a better future for his community. He is married and has 2 children. As a strong community member he holds several leadership roles— as a Vestry member of Bon Samaritan Episcopal Church and Lay Eucharistic Minister; as a teacher; and as the manager of the Chicken Broiler Project that offers hope for a sustainable economy within the Bondeau. DAVID TOUSSAINT

Bon Samaritan School Administrator

David is from Port-Au-Prince and has been working at the school since 2013. He manages the payroll for all school employees and oversees the financial records of the school.
He is married and has one child.

Bon Samaritan School Supervisor

Yves has been the supervisor of the school since 2007.
He lives in Miragoane and is married with 2 children.

Fleuriot Silien

Bon Samaritan School Maestro

Fleuriot is “The Maestro” teaching music at the school since 2013. His great talent and passion have enabled a tremendous music program for Bon Samaritan students. He has developed an orchestra with instruments purchased through a UTO Grant that funded this program. Fleuriot is also the lead worship musician and choir director for Bon Samaritan Church.

DR. RUDOLPH RICHEME

Healthcare Mission
Medical Director

Born and raised in Port au Prince, Dr. Rudy has a deep commitment to using his tremendous skills and gifts to help Haitians. A respected Orthopedic surgeon, he and his brother (also a physician) established a clinic in Port au Prince. His many professional contacts and dedication to serve the people of Haiti, enable our healthcare missions to have outstanding Haitian team members. He supports our school nurse via telehealth in between our healthcare missions.

Alfliota Montina, RN

Bon Samaritan
School & Community Nurse

Joining the staff of Bon Samaritan School on October 1st, 2016 Alfilolita is a delightful, important addition for healthcare in Bondeau. Her responsibilities include teaching basic personal healthcare to the children as well as follow up for those with chronic illness treated during our Healthcare clinics enabling prescriptions to be refilled. Her position is funded by South Florida Haiti Project.

THE REV. ANDREW SHERMAN

Board President

Father Andrew is the Rector of St. Gregory Episcopal Church of which South Florida Haiti Project is an adjunct ministry. His committed leadership since 2005 has guided SFHP into a strong partnership which he feels profoundly blesses him. Father Andrew visits Haiti every year and is dedicated to the people of Bondeau having opportunities to live safer, healthier lives.

TERESA GRASHOF

Teresa Grashof became a board member in 2017. She has been able to visit Bondeau on the annual board member visit in both 2017 and 2018. Teresa focuses on fundraising and development needs to support the annual operating budget and special projects. As an active member of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Tequesta, Florida she is serves on their Outreach & Mission Committee, the Investment Committee and The Giving Team. Professionally, Teresa has worked in retail real estate since 1992 as Vice President of Retail Leasing Services. She enjoys life with her husband and three children.

JUDITH CELESTINE-LYNCH

Judith joined the Board in 2019. She is very active in Diocese of Southeast Florida mission work and has worked closely with Pere Phanord. As a native-born Haitian and now a US resident citizen, she is an invaluable resource culturally and as well as being fluent in both Creole and English.

Beth Shires

Beth Shires became involved in Bondeau through medical missions as a partner to South FL Haiti Project. After 9 medical missions working with the Bondeau community, Beth transitioned Healthcare into the SFHP Strategic Agenda and officially joined the Board in 2015. Her professional work as a Ministries Coordinator brings her passion for mission work in Haiti and Madagascar along with 16 years of public relations and event management experience to SFHP. She became the first Executive Director (part-time) in January 2023 funded by a grant.

MICHAEL ARMSTRONG

Dr. Michael Armstrong is retired from the State University System of Florida and the United States Navy and Naval Reserve. He was a founding member of the initial Board of the South Florida Haiti Project as a representative of St. Paul's Episcopal Church Delray Beach and has been actively involved since through numerous trips to Haiti, food packing, water testing, grant writing etc. He has been on the current Board for since 2021.

THE REV. JEAN BENISTE

Rev. Beniste joined the Board in March 2021.

DR. CHARLOTTE BARRY

Charlotte D. Barry is a Professor at the Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing, Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton Florida. Charlotte has been a Board member since 2012. She has been focused on the development of community-based programs that especially focus on the delivery of culturally sensitive, quality health care. She has secured over 300 books in French to help establish the first school library at Bon Samaritan school and co-developed a micro economic program for high school students called “Bondeau Bows.”

REGINALD FEROLIS

Living in Port au Prince (his birth city), Reggie was the translator for mission teams and pilgrimages to Bondeau for over 5 years. Not only a talented translator, Reggie's BS in Pyschology and masters in Education Administration have been extremely helpful. Due to the overwhelming violence in Port au Prince he immigrated to the US in 2021. Reggie joined the Board in 2023.

THE REV. PAUL KANE

Fr. Paul Kane serves as rector of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Delray Beach. He is currently dean of the South Palm Deanery. As such, he serves on the Executive Board of the Diocese of Southeast Florida. He has served on the Board of Directors of the South Florida Haiti Project since December, 2015.

The Rev. Jeanty Laine

Father Jeanty is the Priest-in-Charge of the Haitian American congregation of Blessed James T Holly Episcopal Mission in Delray Beach, Florida. Born in Haiti, he brings an invaluable voice to partnership. Father Laine also volunteers to serve Haitians in the local Boynton Beach hospital.

THE REV. SHEILA ACEVEDO

Rev. Sheila Acevedo Limontas is a Deacon in the Diocese of Southeast Florida. Rev. Acevedo Limontas is a retired teacher and educational administrator for two Florida districts, and an adjunct professor for six different universities. She has worked with the Haitian and Haitian American community in 2 Florida counties (Palm Beach and Orange) and in 3 Haitian areas (Port au Prince, Jacmel, and Bondeau) primarily in education and women’s self-sufficiency.

KATHARINE MURRAY

Katharine joined the Board in December 2021 bringing extensive business and project management skills. She has devoted her career and recreation to exploring and protecting the natural environment. Katharine is the president of Environmental Quality, Inc., an environmental consulting and contracting firm focused on habitat restoration, invasive plant species management, water resources, and environmental permitting.

Lauren joined the Board in 2023.

THE REV. Anita Thorstad

The Rev. Anita Thorstad is a Deacon serving at St. Gregory Episcopal Church. She was one of the originators of the relationship with Bondeau. Her faithful involvement with the community began the relationship between South Florida and Bondeau. She is a founding member of the SFHP Board. Her passion is the children so she founded “Kay Timoun” home for poor children on the Bondeau campus and operated it from 2012 until it closed in 2017. She also founded and directed a sewing school for women of Bondeau giving women a way to be economically sustainable.
